How the CobraTrak 5 works:

Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR)

The ADR security function is designed to prevent key theft. This comes in the form of a small pocket-sized driver card that you take with you when you’re driving your vehicle. When you leave the vehicle and the card is no longer present in the vehicle, CobraTrak 5 activates itself.

The ADR function means that even if your vehicle is stolen with your own keys, the system alerts and you’ll be able to recover your car as quickly as possible. CobraTrak 5 has a handy motion sensor which is set to alert Cobra’s HQ when the vehicle is moved without the driver present for any reason, including if your car is being towed away or tampered with.

Once Cobra’s HQ confirms with you that there has been a theft, they will start the location and recovery process. This involves using GSM and GPS pinpoint tracking to locate your vehicle and this information is relayed to the police so they can recover your car.

Remote Engine Immobilisation

This is advanced technology which allows your vehicle to be immobilised remotely once it comes to a standstill. It works by enabling the police to send an alert to Cobra to prevent your car’s engine being restarted again. The remote engine immobilisation feature means that your vehicle can be recovered quickly, possibly without it being subjected to a high speed pursuit - and in turn this should result in less chance of vehicle damage.
